The power of leadership communicaiton
 



The alignment of thought, word and action can build the power of leadership communication because if leader think one way, speak another way and act the other way around, it will make difficult for others to follow.     
I usually create the P-O-W-E-R Principle to help leader in many leading organization to use as the guiding map to align and attune theirs head, heart and hand in creating Hi-Impact communication with others.       This P-O-W-E-R Principle is         
P-Purpose     The first foundation to build the power in communication is crystal clear goal  “What in it for me” & “ What do you want the audiences to do when you finish your communication”. If the goal is not clear, the innate power of bringing the right information to communication will be blur. Many can communicate with a lot of info but can’t make the impact to convince others if innate power is not strong.     

O-Organize thinking
   
After we have the clear purpose, the way to organize the structure thinking is also the important factors to zoom in and zoom out the content you would like to deliver. The bullet of three is the right structure for our brain to memorize. It easies to stick in your audiences’ mind with structure of three. This also helps you to plan the time for each detail to deliver. You can plan to communicate in 3 mins, 3 hours or 3 days just use the same structure but expand the content inside each bullet.    
 
W-Win-Win Audience        
When we have clear purpose and organize structure thinking, we will have clear thinking. We will ready to communicate out. If we know what in it for the audiences, we can integrate our thinking with their head and heart. The more benefit the audience will get, the more open of their heart we get.         

E-Engage head and heart
       
Painting our communication to engage audience head and heart is the key create hi-impact communication. If their thinking preference is imagination, the scenario based story will stimulate their interest. If they are analyzer, fact and logic will trigger them. If they are organizer, the detail is needed. If they love personalize, the feeling story that touch their heart will motivate them. The right story customization will build the power of engagement. 
       
R-Recap with action        
Most communicators forget to pay attention to the critical part of communication which is closing.  Recap the story at the end with the highlight theme or principle like “P-O-W-E-R” will create the tattoo in the audience mind. Then if you walk the talk like you said, it will create the recap of memory in their brain. Just like the words said “Action speaks louder than word”.
